Trinity Beach, Cairns
(4.5/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Tucked between two lush green headlands, Trinity Beach is a golden crescent of sand, kissed by the blue waters of the Coral Sea. Lifeguards patrol the area, and a swimming area is cordoned off for safety. Try your hand at paddle-boating or kite-surfing. Be vigilant because the water gets deep quickly, and strong waves don't make it very suitable for kids. However, a playground for children is close by. An array of eating options from carryout to restaurant dining is available. By using our Cairns trip generator, you can arrange your visit to Trinity Beach and other attractions in Cairns.

  • Afternoon trip from Cairns, a bit far to travel for what's there. There is a beach and netted area (for stinger season swimming) but I don't think it's worth the bus journey from town to get there.
  • Quiet and safe with heaps of facilities. Nice walks, swimming and several great restaurants - forget the pub.
  • Great picnic facilities to eat on northern end before sunset. Beach nice to sit and relax. Southern end has cliff walk but I have yet to go there.
