Michaelmas Cay, Cairns
(4.4/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
An important breeding site for terns, Michaelmas Cay is a protected area teeming with life. The terns are sometimes joined by turtle species that nest along the cays. These nesting sites are a vital resource for scientists studying these species, and you'll often see photographers snapping photos or scientists jotting down notes. The area where the birds live is densely vegetated due to the abundant bird droppings (an excellent fertilizer), in contrast to the rocky terrain of the rest of the cays. • 1 day excursion to an island 35 miles off the coast. 2 hours in a very large catamaran boat trip. During the voyage, information explicit about what to see, activities to be performed, and transfer of the material for them. View from the bottom of coral on a boat with side panels of glass that allows to see the coral reef that later can be explored by snorkeling. Tips and warnings by the crew to make everything a success. Finish varied food and fruit to spend thirst. Return to media late, with the satisfaction of having taken advantage of a day in close contact with the sea

  • If you dive all day it will, otherwise do not be quiet on the little space given to you on l ' island or hundreds of birds cry all day in addition to the pollution of the shuttle that connect to the boat every 15 minutes
