The nearest town is Byron Bay. The park protects an area of Wallum country, of coastal clay heaths behind Tallow Beach, providing habitat to numerous bird species and two native frog species, the Wallum Froglet (Crinia tinnula) and Wallum Sedge Frog (Litoria olongburensis), both of which are deemed vulnerable to extinction.Traditionally the land of the Arakwal people, the park was proclaimed in 2001 after the Arakwal Indigenous community and the New South Wales state government reached a land use agreement. • Away form the maddening crowd! Lovely fire trails and very long beach walks ( lets just say, many Kms/miles....). Not a beach to swim at as there is no life guards, although for children there is a delightful lagoon to paddle in. Please respect the National park, by not bring pets and leave no rubbish. Like the saying goes... leave only foot prints!
  • Absolutely stunning views.
  • Very nice scenery
