Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, Bundaberg

(4.2/5 based on 260 reviews on the web)
Take a colorful walk through Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, noted for a huge variety of vibrant water lilies growing along a tranquil lagoon. Wooden walkways take visitors through a number of lush areas spread across this large park, which is home to over 100 species of birds. Bring a picnic and relax under a big tree, or enjoy an exciting ride on the steam-powered train, which winds its way around the gardens and along the lagoon. Arguably the park’s most notable feature is the Hinkler Hall of Aviation, celebrating the achievements of aviator Bert Hinkler, the first person to fly solo from England to Australia. This museum includes an exhibition hall with multimedia displays, as well as a flight simulator, theater, and five historic aircraft. • This is a beautiful botanical gardens with many exciting things to see. There are three museums on the grounds, and a train network that runs diesel and steam cane trains. Huge amount of bird life - ducks, egrets, pelicans, geese.
  • Great gardens with lots to see with Hinkler Museum of flight, Museum about the sugar cane industry and a historical museum. Buy a combination ticket for all 3 as a great saving. Also a steam train ride around the park. A full day out.
  • No way near other major cities' botanic gardens, but if you run out of things to do, it's the place to go. It's a shame such a small museum charges entry fee.
  • Beautiful Oasis with steam train ride every Sunday. Perfect for a cool day out with kids.
  • Lots to see, well set out. Good paths. Train ride looks good
