Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, Bundaberg
Categories: Gardens, Nature & Parks
Take a colorful walk through Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, noted for a huge variety of vibrant water lilies growing along a tranquil lagoon. Wooden walkways take visitors through a number of lush areas spread across this large park, which is home to over 100 species of birds. Bring a picnic and relax under a big tree, or enjoy an exciting ride on the steam-powered train, which winds its way around the gardens and along the lagoon. Arguably the park’s most notable feature is the Hinkler Hall of Aviation, celebrating the achievements of aviator Bert Hinkler, the first person to fly solo from England to Australia. This museum includes an exhibition hall with multimedia displays, as well as a flight simulator, theater, and five historic aircraft. Enjoyed our visit to the gardens. It is well laid out and maintained. We enjoyed the train ride around part of the gardens. The cafe is well worth a visit. The food great and well priced.

Really lovely gardens with a nice cafe on site. Ensure you visit all the museums in the grounds which are recommended. Also a little train runs there too.
