Garden Nature / Park
Take a colorful walk through Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, noted for a huge variety of vibrant water lilies growing along a tranquil lagoon. Wooden walkways take visitors through a number of lush areas spread across this large park, which is home to over 100 species of birds. Bring a picnic and relax under a big tree, or enjoy an exciting ride on the steam-powered train, which winds its way around the gardens and along the lagoon. Arguably the park’s most notable feature is the Hinkler Hall of Aviation, celebrating the achievements of aviator Bert Hinkler, the first person to fly solo from England to Australia. This museum includes an exhibition hall with multimedia displays, as well as a flight simulator, theater, and five historic aircraft. • Gardens were suited to a family outing. Some areas closed for maintenance / construction. Kids will enjoy the steam train ride. Cafe is good and has a kids menu and gluten-free options. Check out the Hinkler Hall of Aviation while you are there.
  • The Cafe was great, and the kids loved the steam train which runs on Sundays. Sit in a rear carriage, the horn is VERY load up the front.
  • Lovely place to visit. Great for kids and families. Highly recommended.
  • May to August gardens are open from 0630 to 6pm. Sept to April gardens are open from 0530 to 6:45PM. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Always clean. Great cafe named cafe 1928 on site. Good food. Dont forget to gave a look at the Hinkler hall of aviation while there. It is open from 9am to 4pm monday to sunday. So much to see at the botanical gardens.
  • This is a beautiful botanical gardens with many exciting things to see. There are three museums on the grounds, and a train network that runs diesel and steam cane trains. Huge amount of bird life - ducks, egrets, pelicans, geese.
