  • Do bring a jacket, it is VERY windy! There is a long flight of stairs that brings you to the top of the hill overlooking "The Neck". The view is magnificent, it is so beautiful and unique that you must visit it. Kids and elderly are able to climb the stairs- with caution.
  • Beautiful lookout view with a long and steep stairway leading up to the top. It has a side track to the beach to watch penguins at night. Your not allowed to use flashlights unless they are covered with (infra)red film. Pristine beach as well.
  • Stunning lookout. Over the years they have put a lot of work into making this a tourist friendly site that is worth coming to. Carpark and toilets available. At night, it is worth seeing the penguins come in from the water into their nests, such a magical experience. Guided by a ranger who is passionate and friendly. Must- see if on Bruny Island!! Not disability friendly. Parking 🅿️ located down the bottom of many stairs.
  • Crowded with tourists, unique photo opportunity if you can get a pic without humans in it. Walk along the beach and you may see a penguin, as we did. Maybe time your visit to see the penguins leaving their nests as dawn and dusk. Toilets were not available at this time (Jan 2018). Popular with coaches and is on the essential Bruny Island to do list for most tourists.
  • One of the 10 things to do on Bruny Island is to climb to the top of the Trugannini lookout at 'the neck'. Definitely worth the effort for the spectacular 360degree views. Also climbing the 200 plus stairs a good way to get the heart pumping. Beware though can get a little crowded.
