  • Simple but very effective. Great views and photo opportunities of “the Neck”. Quite a few stairs to climb to the lookout but easy gradient and nice, wide timber stairs. Well worth a look.  more »

  • The lookout has a few steps, yes, but it is worth everyone up to the top. The views are amazing! Makes for beautiful photos. The beach is spectacular. It is also worth taking a walk along the shorelin...  more »

  • Love the neck lookout have went up near every time I head over. Now they have the gravel road sealed and a big nice up to date car park it’s got better, sum might say other as it’s where a penguin breading ground. If you want a decent picture of the nice view you have to walk to the top now as you will have a big noticeable car park in your photo. These two shots are of the new complete car park and one standing on the chair ontop of the staircase the shots I took on New Year’s Eve 2017
  • Good parking and access for walkers. New loos almost ready, including accessible. At dusk rangers put on a penguin watch. Bring red torches only!
  • Great views during the day. Happened to see some penguins at night. Not as crowded as the Phillip island "penguin parade". Best to take some red lights or torches with red filters if you are planning on trying to spot some penguins.
  • Spectacular view from this lookout. A bit of a climb up the stairs but only for a couple of minutes... easy.
  • Great chance to learn about Tasmanian Indigenous Australian history and view the unusual land formation and two bays. Also the right place to stop at to see the little fairy penguin rookery site. Be sure to only use red filtered lighting to avoid scarrng the penguins or harming their eyesight. Don't expect to see the penguins until after it gets dark (later than dusk as suggested on signage).
