  • This is one of the places that makes Melbourne the most livable city in the world. It is a place of community above profit. It is home to many interesting things (I've only really been a user of two so I will focus on those). There is nursery that sells a diverse range of plants (some that I had no idea even existed). Quite a lot of native and non-mainstream plants, and heirloom plants. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. There is also a community bike workshop. You can both be taught how to repair your own bike, and also reclaim a donated bike. This is, or was when I did it, cash only, so come prepared. They won't repair your bike for you, but will happily spend time teaching YOU how to do it. There are large collections of bike parts,. But it's organised chaos in some ways.
  • Loved this plant nursery. Staff are super helpful and friendly. There is an organic market which stocks a large variety of vegan products. The herb section is expansive. Will come back to visit the cafe and farmers market.
  • Awesome vibe, beautiful gardens and surroundings. The grocer shop has a great range of organic and local goods and produce, including bulk grains, honey, eggs, tea and herbs. There's a calendar of events with music and markets at different times.
  • Every visitor to Melbourne should spend some time at CERES. It's informative, sometimes entertaining, and usually eye opening. It's an environmental Oasis in the suburbs, and 60,000 school kids a year can't be wrong.
  • Great place interesting people, great cafe, shop for fruit and veg or plants for the garden. There are chickens running all over the place, classes in gardening, a meditation group, markets or special events from time to time and the gluten free bread is pretty good too.
