  • Great
  • Fantastic museum, very educational exhibits, a audio visual display shows how the mother load was developed over millions of years. It's very specific to broken hill. They have a wide variety of gems, and go to some lengths to explain how they formed. I liked the images of the streets in broken hill naming which elements or materials they were names after. Entry to the art gallery part is a $2 donation, for this, you can view local artists work. You can submit your own art here too an see if it sells! They provide you with a guide showing the prices. Some paintings were outback theamed, and as good as the ones in the art center, but most were amature artists having a crack. Great staff here. I almost forgot- they have a display of the lone rider on a silver sculpture, worth the visit just to hear the story of this piece. I spent 2 hours here, pretty good for just $2
