  • The owners are passionate about their museum and what it offers. He has the most amazing "paintings" of life in Broken Hill, all done with minerals, not paints. That skill is something we may not see ...  more »
  • It was interesting to talk to the owner and his art work it amazing it was worth the small enter fee to see how the miners used to work in such small dark areas
  • This was by far my favourite museum. A fantastic story teller with incredible exhibits from a miner who has lived and breathed the mines. Just when you thought it couldn't get better, you see his uniq...  more »

  • Great
  • Fantastic museum, very educational exhibits, a audio visual display shows how the mother load was developed over millions of years. It's very specific to broken hill. They have a wide variety of gems, and go to some lengths to explain how they formed. I liked the images of the streets in broken hill naming which elements or materials they were names after. Entry to the art gallery part is a $2 donation, for this, you can view local artists work. You can submit your own art here too an see if it sells! They provide you with a guide showing the prices. Some paintings were outback theamed, and as good as the ones in the art center, but most were amature artists having a crack. Great staff here. I almost forgot- they have a display of the lone rider on a silver sculpture, worth the visit just to hear the story of this piece. I spent 2 hours here, pretty good for just $2
