Brilliant memorial to the World War II Papua New Guinea Kakoda campaign I have ever seen. Nice walk beside the canals through lush gardens. A great break from the crowds and the sun.
Great for picnic. You can even take a fishing rod and fish on the canal. We go here for family birthdays!
Cascade Gardens has it all. BBQ facilities, playground for the kids, cool walk through the trees. It is also home to the Korean War Memorial and the Kokoda Memorial Walk. Great riverside walk.
A huge & ecologically diverse park which has heaps of facilities for picnics, right on the banks of the Nerang River. There is a playground & plenty of tables & chairs, although facilities are a bit old & dirty, & the playground lacks an enclosed fence. Home to ANZAC & Kokoda track memorials, a large flying fox colony & plenty of flora & fauna, plus several other interesting sights, this park is a lovely escape from the urban sprawl surrounding it.
Nice place for the kids to play outside.
Had a stop for a barbecue! Nice!
Beautiful, shady gardens with yet another great Broadbeach playground for kids. Great walking track around the gardens. Playground includes merry go round, swings, slides as well as a swing for people in wheelchairs. It is huge and I haven't seen one before. Did not see it working but thought it fantastic. There is a recycled-water gated lake behind the playground that looks a bit rancid but the ducks look happy enough. If you look closely enough you may notice the tiny tortoise heads roaming around the shady part of the lake.
