Brewery
XXXX Brewery Tour introduces visitors to one of the city’s most iconic breweries, Castlemaine Perkins, home to the XXXX beer brand. This popular lager brand was first introduced in 1924, and its name is a throwback to the long standing tradition of using Xs to indicate the strength of an ale. On this tour you can see how a brewery that has been open since 1878 functions on a daily basis. See the production process by walking through the various sections of the brewery, and discover the 130 years of colorful beer history in this region. End you visit with a stop at the brewery’s bar, where you can taste all three of the popular XXXX lagers. • An excellent tour for beer drinkers who know little about the brewing process. Book early and enjoy tasting of four offerings after the tour.  more »

  • Great informative tour on the entire brewing process with a beer tasting at the end. Great staff and food as well!
  • Surprisingly enjoyable (unlike XXXX!) the tasting at the end includes XXX (three X) which is actually quite nice.
  • XXXX might not be everybody's favorite beer, but the tour is well done and professional with quality production values. Highly entertaining and informative.
  • Never joined the tour, but we had a number of work lunches in the Alehouse over the years. The location is fun, but the food is mediocre fare. The biggest problem is obviously the XXXX beer which is one of the worst in Australia in terms of ingredients and taste. I guess for this reason they also offer Little Creatures on tap ;-)
  • Very interesting brewery tour. The beginning part was a bit long winded, but very informative. And it ends with a beer tasting!
