Really enjoyed my time at the museum. I thought the solar system photographs were amazing. And the Roman Gladiatorial exhibition was fantastic. Great place to take pre-teens!  more »

Well run, varied, well documented, explanatory. Something in it for all ages. Really liked the visual displays, e.g. of the Collosium. Also the chance to actually put on gladiatorial accoutrements to ...  more »

Visited the Gladiators exhibition, which was excellent, during the week. Good facilities and pleasant, helpful staff. Booked tickets (timed entry to Gladiators exhibition) online which worked well. (Tickets have to be printed by yourself prior to visit). Interesting and well stocked gift shops - a main museum one and one specifically for the Gladiators exhibition. Managed to pick up some unusual presents for people. Parking available under the building; good value at $16 all day. We arrived at around 10am and the car park seemed quite full. Later, at lunchtime, we noticed a car park full sign. Suggest getting to car park early if you want to be sure of a place; especially if you have 'mobility issues'.

The museum is excellent and the exhibitions are very well curated. It's not a huge museum, but can make for a great day trip when combined with the nearby art museums, restaurants, convention centre and performing arts theatres. Easy to reach by public transport via the bus station right outside and the train station right across the road, or you could take the city cat on the river and stroll past the Brisbane Wheel and the big Brisbane sign. Free entry to the main museum also means this is a great trip for people on a budget as you'll only pay for some of the rotating exhibits and the science centre for the kids.

Plenty of things to see. So much informative. Too good for kids and someone who enjoys history! Make sure you spare least 2-3 hours to see all three levels. It's free and so close to City/ South Bank. You can get here via public transport or park your car close to South Bank/ Kangaroo Point and walk a bit to save some $$.

We love it! It's always new things to see and explore. Just a bit hard to find a place to warm bottles or food. The rest just perfect!

A go to place for people from all age groups. Really informative. Could work more on their astronomy section I think. Otherwise it's a package deal.
