  • Before I start this post for the Queensland Maritime Museum I must point out that I am a volunteer here at the Museum. I have volunteered at the museum for the last 10 years after I retired from the Department of Education Brisbane. It is such a great place to visit with your family and the kids will love our warship the Diamantina. They can check out and operate the 4 inch guns, go down into the engine room and see the Captain's cabin. There are many other displays to visit. So search our website site for all the details and come in and see us! You won't be disappointed!
  • HMAS Diamantina in the 19th Century dry dock excites kids of all ages! We can swing the turrets and elevate her 4 inch guns, plus visit the engine room with twin steam engines.
  • Very good and awesome that you can go down into the dry dock now. Seems like some work needs to be done on the inside now. There some great stuff in there but it's not being used to its full potential.
  • Fantastic location on the water with a serene view of the water and city. The historic ambience of the structure and ship combine to make this a place I will be coming back to. Strongly recommend.
  • Brings back memories..
