The Oxford University Parks, commonly referred to locally as the University Parks, or just The Parks, is a large parkland area slightly northeast of the city centre in Oxford, England. The park is bounded to the east by the River Cherwell, though a small plot of land called Mesopotamia sits between the upper and lower levels of the river. To the north of the parks is Norham Gardens and Lady Margaret Hall, to the west the Parks Road, and the Science Area on South Parks Road to the south. The park is open to the public during the day, and has gardens, large sports fields, and exotic plants. It includes a cricket ground used by Oxford University Cricket Club.

  • Gorgeous park with the most beautiful rose gardens. We had our wedding photos taken here and they are just gorgeous. Great kids playground too.

  • Amazing park for picnics, summer drinks and gatherings with friends. Parking is a bit chaotic and very difficult to find a space if you don't get there early enough. There's a few shaded areas under the trees and some very pleasant views of the surrounding gardens and city skyline. Markets are not too far away at the weekend and there's several children's playgrounds, toilet facilities and places to explore. Definitely one of the highlights near the CBD!
  • Great park for a picnic with friends! We recently had a group of about 20 people gather for a Christmas picnic. We arrived early to get a spot on the water under one of the trees. Still lots of parking if one gets there early. Views lovely, river breeze helps on a hot day. The Powerhouse is right there should one wish to visit, and the coffee cart is still going in spite of all the roadwork & improvements underway. Would be even more amazing if the toilets are upgraded, as they're not pleasant especially on a busy day. Well worth going to the park, though!
  • One of the greatest parks in Brisbane, but also the busiest. It has something to cater for kids of all ages and abilities. No kids? No problem! It also has a lovely little coffee shop, paths to walk along the river and sport facilities such as tennis court and soccer field. Lots of trees for shade, lots of space to find a seat or put a rug down. Only problem… parking! Parking can be a nightmare! While parking is available in close proximity to the park, it definitely isn’t enough to cater for the popularity of the area. Be prepared to have to walk a ways or catch public transport.
  • A real treat to come here. Clean tidy. So much in the way of picnic grounds. Lots of people, spread all over the park. Lovely views of the river. Great access to ferries and River Cats. Busses. Plenty of car parking. Cafes nearby. Proximal to rose gardens and the Brisbane Powerhouse
  • Big green space close to CBD accessible by ferry, bus or car. Moreton bay figs, flame trees and jacarandas. One direction ring road around the park. Famous for it’s roses. Lots of dogs, families, birds after a free fed, some seats/tables. Pack a picnic chair or blanket. Closes at 6pm (gates for cars)
