  • The Museum of Brisbane is located within the town hall building (City Hall), which is another highlight in King George Square. The contents of the Museum explores the history of Brisbane and also the time contemporary, through art and testimonies of its residents. The space occupies an entire floor of the building of the Town Hall and the access is free. Works of 10:00 at 5:00 pm, all days (till 7:00 pm on Fridays).

  • This is not a large museum but is packed with interesting snippets of both history and modern day living in Brisbane. Well worth a visit.  more »
  • A fun and informative place to visit, enhanced by the guided tour and the ride to the clock tower. I especially appreciated the insights she gave into the floods over the years and also the sad and br...  more »

  • when I first stumbled across the Museum of Brisbane several years ago it seemed like a secret gem, a calm and beautiful space in a hot and busy city. Since then it’s profile has improved but it is still my first stop every time I am in town. Excellent exhibitions, friendly staff and an exquisite gift shop, with a lovely cafe in the basement. if the trip to GOMA is too far, don’t miss this!
  • It's important to keep in mind that Brisbane is a young city in the scheme of things so it's not going to have that much content to offer. Nonetheless, the displays which are there are quite entertaining (especially if you take an interest in Queensland history).
  • Mao's Last Dancer Exhibition a portrait of Liu Cunxin is well worth a visit and the museum always has such interesting exhibitions and mostly free. While you are visiting be sure to take a guided tour of the City Hall but be sure to book ahead
  • More than a museum it speaks alot about brisbane and its culture.loved it...eveb through it is free entry previous booking should be done for the guided tour to clock tower and museum
  • A nice mixed exhibition more than a museum. Very interesting though. Also accessible for anyone as is free. The Museum also offers free Tower Clock tours. They take you up in the original lift and the views are great.
