  • A small museum in the building which served as General Douglas MacArthur, allied army commander George in the Southwest Pacific during World War II. A lot of information about the life and achievements of the General. More interesting, however, is me part concerning the role of Brisbane and Australia during the war. Schools do not teach us about the impact of war on the fate of the contemporary Australians (of both genders, all ages), as well as the lives of American soldiers in the biggest Fort this part of the world. Have fun, create toys for children, weddings, press-full mosaic. Plus a lot of maps from the course of the subsequent battles and skirmishes. That surprised me about the interned to instill, Germans and Italians. As well as the date of surrender of the Germans-7 May 1945. After historical gleams is a 2-minute plunge into the crowd of tourists and locals, between shops, bars, restaurants.

  • Only open three days a week, but worth a visit. Interesting to see the extent of the armed forces in Brisbane in World War 2 and how that influenced the city and it's civilians
  • Free entry weekend October , so popped in to this small time capsule , good for the military buff , a lot of facts and figures of events during WW11 certainly worth the time to duck in on a lunch brea...  more »

  • MacArthur was a American that why do tha au Brisbane gov build a special museum to memorize him? Brisbane was plunged into WW2 majorly for a supply base of military necessaries
  • Best museum in Brisbane. If you get a chance, see if Ron Rees will talk with you. A very important part of our history.
  • Very interesting place to visit, would recommend. A lot to learn about life during WW2
  • Apartr from the historic value of the site as the HQ of WW2 in the SW Pacific there are great exhibits of Brisbane during this period. Highly recommend.
