Tamarama Beach, Bondi
(4.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Situated between two prominent headlands, with a sand valley to the back, cozy Tamarama Beach is surrounded by pleasant parkland and picnic areas. Often called "Glamarama" because of the alleged abundance of glamorous topless tourists, the beach features one of the smallest strips of sand in the entire region. Remember that due to its deep water and big waves, this beach is considered too dangerous for most swimmers. Never ignore lifeguards’ directions, and keep out of the water altogether when the biggest swells roll in. There’s plenty to do on dry land, as the beach is in the middle of the "Bondi to Bronte Ocean Walk," the most popular coastal walking route in Australia. • Just a short walk away from Bondi beach you can escape the crowds at Bondi beach here, but dont let the diminutive nature of the beach fool you - it has rip tides and is often closed to swimming. Big ...  more »
  • We have often been to Tamarama as part of the coast walk. For us from Bronte to Bondi. B to B not B&B. The beach is beautiful and surf excellent. We regularly see some topless bathers there which seem...  more »
  • This beach has an affectionate nickname for the residents, Glamorous, where people go to be seen. This beach is 1 km from the beach of Bondi and well closer to Bronte Beach and like all the rest of the walk between Bondi and Coogee is very beautiful, very small where people go for swimming, surfing, picnic, or simply admire the wonderful nature of this area is very residential.
