Harbour Town Outlet Shopping Centre opened in 1999 as Australia's first and largest brand-direct factory outlet shopping center. The open-air mall sells discounted local and international brands. It includes over 120 outlet and clearance stores, a state-of-the-art movie theater, and a large supermarket. Palm-lined walkways offer a cool shade even on the hottest days. Many alfresco cafes and restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
