What a lovely way to spend the evening! Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and its commercialism, we enjoyed a gourmet picnic hamper (and a bottle of delightful bubbles) from the nearby Haina... more »
We watched the Geminids at the Observatory on the 14th December 2017- it was a brilliant night/morning and the Milky Way was majestic. The staff were passionate, knowledgeable, and very helpful - showing people different constellations and history through the amazing telescopes and when they assisted you to the toilet due to the darkness, it was another amazing time learning facts about the observatory and the stars. My children 11 and 13 survived it and had fun - though a bit grumpy at times - 11pm to 2am was the booking we had. Take plenty of warm clothing, blankets, chairs and snacks as the night was freezing with the wind ,but totally awesome and worth it we will do it again. Thank you for all the wonderful staff at Perth Observatory - i left feeling very small and in awe of the universe you get to view so frequently and your passion and knowledge. The staff at the shop were very friendly and helpful too. Thank you.
This place is very nice. The people are devoted and are willing to educate others.
Really good tours and very knowledgeable staff great for all ages
Nice day out, very friendly people with excellent knowledge of the history behind the observatory.
Had a great time at the observatory, looking at the southern hemisphere sky. The weather was great, the sky was clear and lots of visitors at the tour. The tour is split into groups so we get to rotate between the domes. The onsite astronomers are very knowledgeable and they are happy to answer your questions. Getting there was easy enough.
