Located east of Perth in Bickley, Perth Observatory is Western Australia’s oldest observatory. It has served WA for 119 years and remains actively involved in the service of public education through day tours for schools and night-sky tours for the public. The observatory was entered on the state’s Heritage Register in 2005 and has been recognized for its scientific, cultural, and historical significance which includes co-discovering the rings of Uranus, and a member of NASA’s International Planetary Patrol Program.   • lucky we still have this place, after the government stopped funding. the volunteers are doing an excellent job keeping it open for tours and star viewing nights. look forward to more involvement in time to come.
  • Definitely worth going on a night tour. The tours are very well run, organised by knowedgible volunteers who are able to show you some great sights.
