Once you enter the restaurant, you will be amazed by the setup of things inside... book barn on one side then restaurant on the other. It gives you the feeling to stay all day reading and also have so...  more »

Beautiful estate, beautiful decor and that's where it stops. If you plan to head to BEBB for lunch or dinner then I strongly suggest you book ahead. If you don't book ahead expect to be rudely re-dire...  more »

We recently visited the restaurant and has a wonderful late lunch. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lay back. The menu is not overwhelming, but has plenty of variety. We had a pizza wh...  more »

The aesthetic of this place is amazing. It is gorgeous, and the bookshop attached is beautiful. However, we did not receive very friendly service. We went for morning tea (arrived at 10.30, coffee begins at 10am) and were served by a very surly woman who clearly did not want to be there. When dining at a place with a reputation like Bendooley I definitely expected better service. Despite this, the coffee and cake was nice and as I said, it's such a beautiful estate it's hard not to enjoy yourself.

High quality food, great setting - 5 star potential. However, our wait staff had a terrible attitude, was rude, with poor etiquette, and at times was blatantly ignoring us - 1 star quality. We are an annoying family, but we are polite, and nothing we did warranted such treatment. Great place; mostly great staff.

Once a two level book barn crammed with used books. These days the restaurant is the real money spinner. The books are relegated either side. In between, outside and aroumd the back are rambles of dinners, gleaming wine glasses and the smell of cooked food.

Good food served and even second hand books are sold. Nice environment in the middle of nowhere. Great place for lunch and coffee.

On first impressions as you enter it is just gorgeous however as soon as we entered the "cellar door" it all fell apart! You truly just feel like a number here. There are so much staff but noone comes near you they all all just darting around the place looking quite pompous like you have inconvenienced them. When we asked if we could dine at the "cellar door " we were told they dont take bookings and we would just need to wait. Then we found out from another "very busy" waitress that there is a list of people waiting... The wine tasting is out of place where it is located and one person was conducting the tasting and was clearly under pressure with so much trade. Wines are lovely but i feel they need to really segregate the two experiences with an emphasis on making it more of an experience for customers. We then went to the restaurant where again people entered and had no direction from staff as they darted by with a lack of customer service. We were seated then just left for a good 20 mins before even being offered a drink. Food was good but not incredible. This place has such potential but i feel they have made it to commercial and loose the essence of the highlands feel. Dissapointing experience!
