Dropped in for a cheese tasting. Nothing to rave about, only a few cheeses to try. Interesting walk around upstairs with some of the old equipment used in the making of cheese.
If going through Bega I'd recommend a stop here for a few minutes. The tourist information centre people were great and friendly, the museum (upstairs) worth a look, the souvenir shop had lots of grea... read more »
Absolutely not worth the petrol, you may as well just go to the supermarket. Just blocks of cheese in a fridge and some nineties try hard tasting out of a Tupperware container, just missing a fondue. ... read more »
Always a great place to stop and try or by some cheese. They have a museum up stairs which is great to walk around, especially if you have little kids, the museum is a little old but still great to see and stop at when driving between melbourne and sydney or any other long distance driving
It was ok. Didn't get a chance to look into tours, which might have been interesting, but if such a thing exists they aren't very well promoted at the center....and the shop was a bit of a let down. You do get to try about 8 different cheeses, some of which aren't available in shops so that's good. Overall if your driving past it's worth a look but I wouldn't go far out of my way for it.
The place has a great museum about producing cheese. Also there is a nice cafe, you can taste delicious Bega cheese for free and get what you like.
Nice place. Not many cheeses, however what's there is good.
Expected more from this place cos it's the Bega cheese "factory". It has all the Bega cheese variety but was disappointed to see cheese sold in a can too. Looked too processed. We went there to buy their 14 year old vintage cheese but they no longer sell them. Another disappointment but they did have one that was 2-3 years old. A bit too crumbly and over priced but it tasted really nice.
