  • We arrived at Hopetoun Falls late in the afternoon. After a steep walk down to the base of the waterfall we were met with a hidden oasis, it was truly magical.  more »
  • A steady walk down a dirt track to the bottom to see the falls. Allow 30-45 mins and smell that rainforest!  more »
  • Hopetoun falls is a must on the tour of the Great Ocean Road - absolutely worth the detour! From the parking lot, you must plan approximately 20-30 minutes to descend stairs. So you should bring a little endurance. Come down walkways lead to the waterfall and you can admire it in all its glory. The waterfall and the tropical trees to one around! Simply beautiful!

  • Beautiful falls are always worth a visit and these were no different. It's quite a walk downhill to see the bottom of the falls, which can be a little steep in parts. This also means the hike back up can be hard on you because of how steep it can be in parts and there aren't all that many spots to rest along the way. It's also not far from the California Redwoods so of you're already making the trek out there, be sure to visit both. Also, remember to tread lightly. These places are beautiful, and do require care.
  • Prepare for the walk back up!!! Absolutely gorgeous forestry leading you down to the base of the waterfall. Short but quite demanding steps down, more demanding on the way back up! Downside to this is the path ends too far away from the waterfall and is fenced off. Not advised but you can get over the railing and navigate the rocks to get right to the base of the waterfall. We got our two year old there no problem. Take the small risk, you'll enjoy yourself!
  • Deep inside the forest... A good place to see.. Ensure the route and don't get lost without your GPS working properly.. No mobile connectivity for around 15kms..
  • Well worth the stairs! ANY time of day is perfect for a trip here, completely covered walk with ferns and trees. GORGEOUS!
  • Good falls and the walk to them is good, steep but good steps and easier than it looked.
