Housed in a 19th-century school, Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum holds an impressive collection of fossils and minerals donated by Warren Somerville AM. This brainy hoarder collected fossils and specimens for over 60 years while teaching at various universities and making a name for himself as an orchardist. His collection is now internationally renowned as the Somerville Collection. In 2000, the professor gave his collection to the museum for public viewing, but his generous donation isn't the only draw. A T-Rex skeleton is another centerpiece for the museum, as well as the mineral exhibit where you'll find 2,000 million-year-old garnets on display.
