Categories: Bodies of Water, Wildlife Areas, Nature & Parks
As you circle Lake Wendouree along the tree-lined path, you'll pass by Ballarat’s beautiful botanical gardens, as well as playgrounds, picnic areas, and several cafes. An old electric tram gives short, scenic rides. Wildlife is in abundance, and you will see freshwater fish, birds, and small animals. Used for the 1956 Olympic rowing events, the lake now hosts various regattas. Crews in boats of various shapes and sizes practice on the water throughout the year. Should you wish to join them, there are boat tours and boat rental facilities along the shoreline.
