Avalon Beach, Avalon
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Practice your surfing skills at Avalon Beach, noted for a small natural rock pool at its southern end. This ocean pool is located under a cliff, which shelters it from high winds and provides a convenient viewing platform. Take advantage of the parking areas and tourist amenities located at the northern end of the beach, and use the Avalon shopping center, within walking distance of the water, for all your last-minute beach needs. Please remember that this beach is potentially hazardous for inexperienced swimmers, despite being patrolled by lifeguards, and that the safest swimming area is at the rock pool. Surfers are advised to always stay between the flags marking the safe zone. Plan to visit Avalon Beach during your Avalon vacation using our convenient Avalon trip itinerary planner.

Many a pleasant hour or two surfing or body surfing. Love this place. The flags can be a little rough. Beginners are probably better suited to Palm or Bilgola.
