Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web
Hidden by a nondescript storefront, The Crystal Caves sells a vast array of gemstones individually designed by local artisans. Behind the shop, you'll find the entrance to an experiential tour of recreated caves showcasing eye-popping gems. The display is arranged in low lighting thatĀ brings out the sparkle of the amethysts, opals, and other treasures mined in Australia. • We dropped by to see a local exhibit of a Crystal cave but found a museum made from Crystals from other countries. We chose not to go in because of that and the expense. The store was free and had an ...  read more »
  • I thought the idea of extensive caves built in a shop was mildly ridiculous, and it is BUT weirdly wonderful too. We really enjoyed it. I did my degree in geology so I loved the exhibits, but my wife ...  read more »

  • Thank you so much for looking us so well today on our Vacation Care Trip to The Crystal Caves. The children all loved both the caves and the shop. I personally love The Crystal Caves which is why we decided to include it in our Vacation Care programme and hoped the children would too. They did and we will definitely be back during the next school holidays Gordonvale Community Kids
  • Admittedly, there is a fair bit of fibreglass in the caves, but enter into the spirit of the thing, and this is actually pretty good fun. Children love the helmets with head lamps, and they do genuinely have an amazing collection.
  • the ticket is too expensive
  • It was nothing special. The cave was so expensive and was just annoying, having to put on helmets that were loose and wouldnt stay on your head, with tiny lights that didn't show much at all, and at times having to bend way over to basically crawl through small spaces. Went in a doorway, took us off into a bunch of different rooms, so ended up missing a chunk of the cave - couldn't be bothered going through all that effort just to see the bits we missed. The cave thing is a nice gimmick, but so not worth the hassle or the cost - would be better just having it set up as a nice display that everyone can enjoy. Sorry guys, low scores from me, definately give the cave a miss and just look through the shop instead for free.
  • It is a great place we go there every time we go to atherton it is amazing to see so many beautiful gems geodes and crystals
