  • I attended one of the Tarmac Days where they pull some of the aircraft out of the hangars and open them up so you can get on board. The guided tour behind the scenes was very informative and we got th...  more »
  • If you love aircraft this is a must. $20 an adult or $15 if you’re a senior is great value. The tours are run by volunteers and are a must, as is the walk thru in the 747-400. If you’re a bit nimble y...  more »

  • Superb museum! Highly recommended to everyone, young or old. Our tour guide (Mal) was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. Will come back again to do the VIP tour very soon. Special mention to all the volunteers, you guys are amazing! Keep up the good work.
  • What a museum! It's entry fee is quite cheap and we received a hands on tour that went for 5 times longer than I expected. Their range is excellent and you can go inside most aircraft. The tour guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
  • This aircraft Museum situated at the Illawarra Airport is a place everyone should visit. It is situated around two hours south of Sydney and next to the Princes Highway the main coastal road south towards Melbourne. The exhibition is historical with professional volunteers to explain the history and flying capabilities of the various planes on show. At present it is the largest exhibition in Australia. We must take our children there to experience some of the history of flight. From very small fast flying planes to the largest Jumbo 747.
  • What can I say. A great place to take any aviation enthusiast and great for kids to boost their interest in aviation. Great selection of aircraft from small experimental aircraft through to the Neptune and modern P3C Orion Anti Submarine patroller, through to the majestic Super Constellation (Connie) and the breath taking Qantas B747-400. The first B747-400 delivered to Qantas in 1989 after the longest flight drom London direct to Sydney Non-stop. Great cafeteria and food on premises. Amazing how aviation has pioneered our lives and transport.
  • A must see if you are visiting the Illawarra. Our first visit and we had two of our grandchildren with us. The museum is staffed by volunteers and access to the exhibits is only allowed as part of a tour party led by a volunteer. The museum has an impressive display of historical aircraft, large and small. We got to enter a number of planes and I even got to sit in the cockpit of an F-111C fighter jet! The highlight, though, is the QANTAS jumbo. We thought the entry fee was very reasonable ($55 for family of 4). My wife is in a wheelchair and access was reasonably easy (not able to get into the planes of course). The commentary could have done more to add interest, especially for the kids, and this is somthing HARS might consider when training their volunteers.
