Overlooking the actual harbor from which Australian troops left to fight in the Great War, National Anzac Centre allows you to follow them on their personal journeys through hands-on multimedia displays. The award-winning center is a moving tribute to over 41,000 men and women, whose names appear on the Infinity Waterfall. • This was a great place to visit on a gloomy day. It was interesting to be given a card of an actual person to follow their story. Boy was I disappointed though when it turned out that mine fell asleep...  more »

  • Well worth the visit, I could have easily spent the better part of a day here. The interactive displays made it easier to interact with and immerse myself in the terrifying world these service men and women must have endured. It was as good as the army museum in fremantle and Te papa in Wellington NZ.
  • Truly a humbling experience. The number of Australians, who at a very young age, gave their lives to protect ours. Take the time to visit and walk the barracks and see the interactive museum.
  • Worth checking out if you're in Albany, but I wouldn't drive down from Perth just for it. The Centre has a lot of WW1 artefacts and some decent technology. It was disappointing that there doesn't seem to be much of a coherent theme or narrative. It's more just "here's some cool stuff, check it out however you want". I would've preferred a progression through periods or theatres of the war. But each individual experience differs. I guess at $25 a head, I was expecting a bit more. My boys (6 & 3) loved the ships' guns outside. They were able to clamber all over them and "operate" them. Expect to spend at least as much time on the grounds surrounding the Centre as in the Centre itself.
  • The perfect place. The view over the harbour where the ships gathered before they left to join the theatre of war was breath taking. The innovation of following the story of a soildse when issued a card that you put at each station to access their records is brilliant and keeps you engaged. The audio recordings from men who were at each location to tell you first hand what occurred helps to add to the authenticity of the journey you'll be taken on that transports you back in time. Money well spent touring it and learning about an important part of Australian history.
  • Definitely worth a visit. Fantastic exhibits, great technologies and amazing views of the Beautiful town of Albany. Great initiative by Liberal Government.
