What a great park, close to Adelaide and shops. The park facilities are spotless and the park very quiet. The staff are very helpful. more »
This place has an amazing walking trail along the creek and foot steps of the hills. All year round it changes landscape which makes for exciting trips up there quarterly. The creek is full of life. Bright blue yabbies frogs water insects birds and a vast variety of plant life thriving on the creeks edge. Highly recommend for families and couples looking for some free weekend fun
Great facility, lots to entertain the bigger kids. Not a lot for toddlers to do though. Would be great if it was completely fenced in.
Awesome view, interesting surrounding walking trails. Definitely worth a look.
I did the Wirraparinga Trail Loop at Brownhill Creek Recreation Park today, and while it was one of the most beautiful and scenic walks I've done around Adelaide, the signage was terrible. I became lost several times, and had to download the map from WalkingSA which was difficult due to the scarce mobile reception on the trail. Once I had the map, it showed parts of the trail which simply didn't exist. There are areas where the trail will just disappear and you're left without any signage to guide you onwards, and points where the trail will just come to a dead end, so you can't continue. It's such a shame that this trail isn't properly signposted because if it was I think it'd be one of the best ones around Adelaide. EDIT: I've increased to 4 stars since the pedestrian bridge over the creek has been finished it has made the trail less confusing. Still needs signage though.
A pleasant park on the fringe of suburbia with a caravan park hidden amongst it. The park seems to be always green, and is long and narrow in shape, and follows a road and the creek, which makes for many easy walking trails. A few historical pieces along the way for those interested. The walk is pretty easy with little climbs unless one heads to the creek and goes up and down the banks. A great place for kids to explore, mostly in the surrounds of minimal car movements, and the occasional mountain biker heading down from the hills.
