Wilhelmina Park, Oranjestad
Categories: Gardens, Nature & Parks
A great starting point to any walking tour of Aruba, Wilhelmina Park is a small tropical park watched over by a majestic marble statue of the longest reigning Dutch monarch. Opened in 1955 to honor Queen Wilhelmina, the park's winding paths and lush green shades act as a welcome sanctuary from the heat of the streets. A statue of Anne Frank also occupies the gardens, a quote from her diary inscribed underneath. Take a short turn around the gardens, looking out for the small colony of iguanas that usually laze away the days here. If you bring lettuce you'll soon be their best friend. Work out when and for how long to visit Wilhelmina Park and other Oranjestad attractions using our handy Oranjestad vacation planner.
