Ayo and Casibari Rock Formations, Aruba

4.1
#6 of 16 in Nature in Aruba
Climb to observe the mysterious rock formations at Ayo and Casibari Rock Formations. Scientists are unsure how the rock formations formed on a flat, arid island, but they speculate that the sea’s previously high levels aided in their formation. At the two locations you can view large, oddly shaped boulders that resemble birds and dragons. Nearby, look for ancient carvings to observe. Cacti surround the rocks and many lizards and birds can be viewed. Restrooms are available for a fee. • When visiting Aruba is an absolute must to this natural phenomenon. It is a unique experience. From the rock formations you have lovely views. It is strange how this could occur. Casibari is at this on bv Friday night to combine very well with eating at live music in the adjacent.

  • Stopped here on our tour and was told to climb to the top for a great view. I was hesitant because any form of exercise was not in my plans. I watched as people climbed up and then asked my 18 year ol...  more »
  • It's nice to have the stone formations but not a must. The admission is free and on top of the stones you get a nice view of Aruba.

  • This geological formation is nothing compared to others you can see around the world... but it has a sort of magical attraction, something mystical. It is worth a visit
  • Relaxing place to spend quality time with family. The park is well maintained, perfectly cleaned. The rock formations are amazing, the view is breath taking. Highly recommended
  • This was a great, and free, stop. We were able to climb and explore the area. I'm surprised more people don't visit.
  • Interesting rock formations and a very beautiful view from the top of the rock in Aruba and perfect for taking pictures. This location was one of our scheduled stops on an Aruba highlights tour and it was one of our favourites. Take your time walking through the paths and just be careful on the stairs leading up to the top of the rock, the view is worth the climb! Visit this place if you want to get the full Aruba experience.
  • Definitely a tourist destination, we pulled up and there were four tour buses. Was a little crowded for our taste but we were able to maneuver in a way to avoid the crowded section. Incredible view from the top and there was some good walking paths around the boulders on the ground.
