4.7/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web
Explore a lavishly decorated stairway-building and a museum of art hidden inside the walls at Yerevan Cascade. The 118 m (387 ft) tall landmark embodies the transition from the Soviet era to democracy: partially completed before the devastating earthquake and breakup of the USSR, the complex was finalized in 2002, marking the country's economic revitalization and opening of cultural borders. As you approach the monumental site, observe the designed fountains, courtyards, and sculptures located on terraces and platforms. The interior contains an intricate network of halls and corridors--all connected to the outdoors via series of escalators. When you reach the top of the stairway, enjoy a panoramic view of the city center and Mount Ararat. • I suggest all tourists to visit Cascade because it is very beautiful place i guess it is one of the best attractions in my city
  • a very unique memorial, consisting mainly of a very high staircase. Starting near the intersection near Opera, this staircase delivers you to the memorial commermorating the 50th anniversary of the Soviet Union. From there, it's a short walk to Mother Armenia herself. The walk itself is difficult, but very doable. There are lots of places to rest, and locals like to come here to sit, drink, be romantic, and sightsee. A great place at night. Be sure to treat the many art installations with respect: the guards are very strict about touching the art.
  • Very good complex. Each level has some exhibits and their a nice garden at the buttom with interesting statues.
  • Lovely and interesting place. On each floor you have some fountains where you can seat and relax and see the best view. Reccomend to visit this place especially
  • Looks like a French Quarter in Paris or Philadelphia. A lot of upline bars and perfectly designed cafeterias. Beautiful at night-time.
  • After climbing 600+ steps, we discovered the cascade suddenly ended without linking to the viewing deck and memorial. It was because the construction had not yet completed. But there was a small trail at the periphery of the site and leading people to the top, where we can enjoy a wonderful panoramic of Yerevan. The cascade is also functioned as a stairway museum and many sculptures are found in the garden and on the terraces along your way.
