Republic Square, Yerevan

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web
Constructed in a stone pattern similar to a traditional Armenian rug, Republic Square attracts swarms of tourists and locals during some of the city's most prominent concerts, venues, and ceremonies. Intersected by main streets, the oval-shaped plaza lies surrounded by important pink and white stone buildings, such as the government house, the history museum, and several ministries. Where a statue of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin once dominated the square, today musical fountains perform choreographed light shows followed by music. You can find rest and refreshments in many cafes and restaurants nearby. Make Republic Square part of your personalized Yerevan itinerary using our Yerevan holiday planner.

  • Very beautiful place specially at night it turns to be magical . Very good place for kids to have fun.
  • It is, practically, the city center, with the governmental buildings surrounding it, very spectacular at night.
  • One of the best architectural ansambles in former Soviet Union.
  • The most beautiful square. it's hard to miss.
  • The only drwback - very few souvenir shops.
  • The heart of Armenia,it is usually overcrowded in the evenings.
  • Armenia's nightlife is incredible. Just hanging out here in the republic square and witnessing the water show is enough to have a great night out.
