Noy Erevan Brandy Factory, Yerevan
(4.3/5 based on 85 reviews on the web)
Set in an imposing building, Noy Erevan Brandy Factory offers visitors insight into the production of, and the opportunity to taste world-renowned brandy. Built on the site of the Erivan Fortress, the factory has produced the first and only non-French brandy allowed to bear the name "cognac" and went on to become the official purveyor of the drink to the Russian Imperial Court. A guided tour reveals the factory's 125-year history, allows visitors to inspect antique bottles and barrels, and offers glimpses of the subterranean barrel storage areas. Consider pre-booking a guided tour to avoid disappointment on the day of your visit. Noy Erevan Brandy Factory is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Yerevan Edition.

  • We went for the guided tour with wine/brandy tasting for 3500 dram per person. For me the most impressive was to taste the very old wine and to see the escape tunnel, which was made by prisoners to es...  more »
  • Were now on the tasting. Girl guide had been very strict though and pretty. Generally do not like the tour. Behind us constantly walked guard whose worked as a walkie talkie, the impression that we are not on the Cognac factory and somewhere on the area with arharovcem. Our issues were causing irritation among Guide and Must listen attentively type commented I told you already, then she discussed something in Armenian with the guard and then they laughed together apparently over what we idiots. Shorter mood is not raised. At the end during the tasting generally killed quite a rough replica of the Guide on our offer still splash Cognac tasting-go to the store! As something ugly, you can it was and not be rude to us. In general we had plans accommodate brandy they have in the store, as a result we spat and nothing to buy. It was like something uncomfortable. In short I do not recommend.

  • The excursion is organized well, the emphasis is on the history of the building of the plant, its past owners. Learned with interest that factory "Noy" belongs to the Armenian businessman, and brand "Ararat" sold to the French. So the present Armenian brandy can be tasted only at the factory "Noy". Interesting story of one of the most famous Cognac plants starting before the revolution. Wonderful Madeira tasting, 1924 in cellars and brandy 10 and 20 year old with fruits and chocolate in the tasting room, wine tasting helps to feel the nuances of taste and learn the secret rules of "kon'jakopitija". Don't miss! Impression of the amazing tours.
