  • Don't miss chance to visit it, very interesting and quite different to view details of this culture.

  • Half day we roamed the halls of the Museum, and we don't want to go away from here. Reward us steel canvas Roerich, who were in the upper room.

  • Strongly recommend not only fans and lovers of painting, but all guests. I honestly did not expect that I would get such a lot of impressions from a sufficient short visit (Oh, travel concerns: first of all fixed-wing aircraft, and museums-then!). Excellent collection of Russian masters of my favorite period: 20-30-IES, Russian avant-garde. But what a shock I got in the halls of Armenian artists! All, of course, know the Martiros Saryan: in his works, the true soul of Armenia. And here you will find a lot of his wonderful paintings. But as I was shocked by opening new names! Artists out in different styles: from Impressionism to the most various-ISMS 20 century, must be included in the Treasury of the best masters of the world. It is a pity that so far I absolutely knew nothing about them. It is worth to say some words of thanks dear ladies-sluzhitelnicam Museum. Not only can they tell something, but also to hold mini tour, no worse than any guide! Oh, and note on the gift shop in the Museum: Here you buy are very good and cheap souvenirs handcrafted Armenian masters.

  • The huge collection of the National Gallery, ranging from Italian renaissance to modern Armenian artists, will surprise every visitor. It is virtually impossible to walk through all eight of the museum's floors in one day. So, plan your visit to either see what interests you most or break it into several days.
  • Terrible, no air-conditioning, literally impossible to stay inside... Most of the paintings by the famous artists that we wanted to see we're removed. Rude people at the ticket desk. It's a real shame when you pay to look at paintings but you're actually paying to feel sick from the heat inside instead making the whole experience unenjoyable.
  • Nice gallery, but the workers close much earlier than the schedule says. Got there on Sunday at 3pm thinking we have 2 h , but they started shutting down and kicking us out at 4.15😐
  • Gorgeous place in Yerevan. Here you can enjoy works of the armenian artists and not only. National gallery has a lot of works of Aivazovsky. I adore works of Surenyants, he was genius. You can see his work's copy in The Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral too. "Salome", "Shamiram and Ara the Beautiful", "After the Massacre". You must to see it. I recommend to take a guide for understand better. You can see and enjoy without them too, but when you know the history of pictures - it's another feeling!!
  • Not too many globally known painters but it is a strong collection of art

Where to stay in Yerevan

When it comes to accommodations in Yerevan, you'll find a number and a range befitting its status as the capital and most populous city in the country. Look in the Kentron (center) district, where by far the greatest number and best quality hotels can be found. Hotels in old Soviet blocks, grand former administrative buildings, or newly built high-rises offer standard to luxury rooms, along with a set of smaller hostels. With prices notoriously high for the region (and many visitors using Yerevan as a base from which to see the country), consider renting an apartment if staying for a longer period.
