Blue Mosque (Persian Mosque), Yerevan

(3.8/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Step into the peaceful courtyard of Blue Mosque (Persian Mosque), and admire the building's ornate, Persian-style facade. Completed in the 18th century, the mosque was commissioned by Nadir Shah, a powerful Persian ruler. Its simple chambers and prayer hall contrast the exterior's intricate tile-work, vibrantly painted dome, and 24 m (79 ft) minaret. Wander among the roses of the tranquil mosque garden, and visit the small museum that details the building's history. • Better to walk out there with a guide, which will tell and show you everything for free, but at the end asks-who can help. But all the same it is better to walk with her, and you can go inside. Very stunning feeling when you come with a noisy Street in the quiet corner, thoughts are ordered, you become calmer and more peaceful. Think summer here even more wonderfully! The Blue Mosque is located on the main streets of Yerevan-St. Mashtots Avenue, opposite the central market. We tried to go from the Minaret, where no entrance, but the guard we opened the door and let him in. The mosque is located in the courtyards.

  • Unusual mosque with a large courtyard garden, a library, a minaret. Earlier, probably were rooms for their stay. Were the winter-as objaychno is not removed from the snow and mud-it was sad

  • Udivitil'no meet in Armenia the representative of other denominations, especially in the center of Yerevan. Easy enough to find and go inside. No one met at the entrance and couldn't find anyone inside, either in the library or in a small gallery devoted to the construction of the mosque. Interesting thing, the photos you can recreate the phases of construction right in the backyards of Yerevan. Truly a beautiful mosque, but her beauty stands out from conventional houses, amid the beautiful buildings of her appearance could be considered normal. However, unusual color and graceful Elm make unusual mosque. We went literally to all premises and couldn't find anyone who could tell about sights ((

  • Shia mosque which was used by Azerbaijanian prayers. Most of old places in the town which were connected with Azerbaijanians were demolished.
  • Beautiful building and very calm place to bring someone for a date or just to hang out and read. Quiet, despite the proximity of Mashtots. Other than a quiet beautiful place, not much to see, but, still, easily a must see in Yerevan. Considering Armenia is a Christian country, this mosque is wonderfully maintained.
  • The mosque is great! The Muslims who visit this place are very hospitable, kind and are eager to answer your questions!
  • An ordinary looking mosque. There are more beautiful mosques in the Middle East. Not worth joining a tour for it. You can walk there on your own.
  • I was just visiting there as the only left mosque in the city. But one day I met a woman who told me about the mosque, it's history and she showed me the gallery. I was really surprised. If you go here find someone to tell you the history and how they use the environment.
