Blue Mosque (Persian Mosque), Yerevan

(3.9/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Step into the peaceful courtyard of Blue Mosque (Persian Mosque), and admire the building's ornate, Persian-style facade. Completed in the 18th century, the mosque was commissioned by Nadir Shah, a powerful Persian ruler. Its simple chambers and prayer hall contrast the exterior's intricate tile-work, vibrantly painted dome, and 24 m (79 ft) minaret. Wander among the roses of the tranquil mosque garden, and visit the small museum that details the building's history. • The mosque is located in the Centre of the beautiful façade ... but nothing remarkable. If time remains, you can see specifically can not walk.

  • Blue Mosque, Yerevan is the only functioning mosque that survived. They say it used to be 8 mosques. Blue Mosque took custody of Iran. A beautiful object to visit such beauty and patterns I haven't seen anywhere else.

  • It is better to come in when a mosque comes a keeper of the Museum, who speaks several languages, including Armenian, Persian, Russian and English. It is elaborate and show, lead to the mosque. But you can go at any other time. The mosque will be opened. You can just be like the courtyard and peek through the fence and through the window inward.

  • Shia mosque which was used by Azerbaijanian prayers. Most of old places in the town which were connected with Azerbaijanians were demolished.
  • Beautiful building and very calm place to bring someone for a date or just to hang out and read. Quiet, despite the proximity of Mashtots. Other than a quiet beautiful place, not much to see, but, still, easily a must see in Yerevan. Considering Armenia is a Christian country, this mosque is wonderfully maintained.
  • The mosque is great! The Muslims who visit this place are very hospitable, kind and are eager to answer your questions!
  • An ordinary looking mosque. There are more beautiful mosques in the Middle East. Not worth joining a tour for it. You can walk there on your own.
  • I was just visiting there as the only left mosque in the city. But one day I met a woman who told me about the mosque, it's history and she showed me the gallery. I was really surprised. If you go here find someone to tell you the history and how they use the environment.
