Old Khndzoresk, Syunik Province
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Nature comes to life at Old Khndzoresk, a village known for its suspension foot bridge and ancient dwellings. Walk the bridge, made of steel mesh, and explore a ravine with picturesque rock formations and cave settlements over 1,000 years old. As there are no flat areas suitable for construction of houses, people used man-made caves as dwellings, some of which reach 20-30 m (66-98 ft) from the ground. A 17th century church and a hermitage with a tomb of an 18th century national hero can be found in the area. Old Khndzoresk is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Goris Edition.

An interesting place to wander can be very long. Greens, Maki, LILACS, birds singing! Before the bridge is a small cafe, the owner of which has created a small museum here in a cave, collecting old household items and pictures. Suspension bridge over the Gorge was built on money of a private investor. Very interesting!show original
