  • Less than one and a half hours from the city center of Mendoza are located the elegant wineries of the Clos de los Siete located. Pre-registration is necessary, otherwise you get no access to the vast territory of these wineries. We had chosen a lunch at Monteviejo Monteviejo and DiamAndes. The vineyards of Clos de los Siete are all new and equipped with the latest technology. Monteviejo is built so that a part of the building like a ramp is covered with a vineyard to keep the buildings evenly tempered. The reception was very friendly, we were led through all parts of the building with the exception of the filling system with detailed explanations. Clinical cleanliness was everywhere. Impressive processing the grapes: the supplied red wine grapes were hand-picked and controlled by 4 people. After the machine stripping the berries were sunk again hand-picked and then together on an assembly line with dry ice in the mash tanks, where they some days mazerieren cooled to then bring the "juice" in oak barrels for fermentation and storage and maturation. Depending on the line, they remain longer in the barrels. Pumps are here frowned upon, if possible, is transferred only by means of gravity. We tried the line "Linda Flor" and were thrilled. However, you have to say in General that the red wines are served too cold for our taste. So you need some time, if not exactly high summer is to extensively sample the wines. At lunch, particularly the humitas and the excellent filet are to praise. The guided tour of DiamAndes was not particularly friendly, the Director very short due to time constraints. However more cellar technology is used at DiamAndes. Striking at two wineries, welch high rank has the decorate of the corridors and rooms, and outdoor spaces with art objects. Architecturally the buildings are themselves already very striking, always the Association immediately rises Temple.

  • Monteviejo Winery is very cute, is in a privileged place, they offer the possibility of eating, which is a very good choice with gourmet meals with good wine. It's not cheap but it is recommended.
