  • Very close to the downtown area. Walk along the lagoon with huge variety of vegetation. With the value added of the enamored "Arrayán" curious plant that "embraces" a Cypress. Recommended!

  • I went alone, determined to discover the lagoon. I went there on foot, down a dirt road (in very bad shape, full of stone that people circulating with cars passing by there had to go dodging as they could and driving very cautiously and wells), after visiting the Church of our Lady of the Asunción. The walk was not long but a little tiring. Once admitted to the venue (cars are outside the Park in a special space to Park) I headed towards the Lake. There was no one that give me explanations, but if a very illustrative poster that with that me was enough to make my journey. The place is fantastic, looks like something out of a fairy tale, everything intact, undefiled. The only thing that could be heard while walking were my own footsteps and as soon as I stopped doing so, all was peace, peace of mind for my ears. Only the sound of the birds, was heard from time to time although I must admit that when I went they were very silvadores haha. The route is closed and is marked by a path (I was a two days after a rain and there were some sections of two or three meters I had to make them more like getting me since the road is very narrow) and surrounded by native vegetation , with trees that are in your "wild" State. At times I felt walking in a forest (bridging the differences), low branches, long old beards, leaves everywhere and sometimes was so thick the local fauna which prevented me from seeing the lagoon. Along the route have the option to get closer to the lagoon (green call for the color of its water I guess) through some viewpoints, some not in such good condition. I decided to sit at a "rest area" that had benches, some carved with very nice phrases, and observe the lagoon. Do not lie them when I say that the place has some magic, I couldn't believe it. Ideal for people who want to meditate, think, read a book or relax and enjoy a lovely super space.

Where to stay in Villa La Angostura

Villa La Angostura's increasing popularity with winter sports enthusiasts from distant corners of the world drives up hotel room prices at the height of the ski season in July and August. Summer (November to February) is equally popular here, and most single rooms book up months in advance. Budget travelers can take advantage of economical hostels or try one of the area's campgrounds--arguably the best way to stay close to Angostura's natural attractions.
