Cascada del Rio Bonito, Villa La Angostura
(4/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
Follow the scenic path alongside Rio Bonito to reach Cascada del Rio Bonito. The river drops from a 36 m (118 ft) high natural balcony. The path ends with an attractive local beach, where you'll see locals walking their dogs and playing with their children on the grey sand (actually volcanic ash). If you get off the road and hike 200 m (656 ft) downhill through a dense forest of native trees, you'll reach the ski-slopes. Finish your walk with a visit to a trout farm. Note that there are no public restrooms along the way. Add Cascada del Rio Bonito and other attractions to your Villa La Angostura trip itinerary using our Villa La Angostura itinerary planner.

  • The waterfall is beautiful and easily accessible. It rises in auto by the access road to the Cerro Bayo and almost at the base of the ski resort on the right there is a poster and a trail that goes to the waterfall. They are 50 metres from hike to a viewpoint.

  • Road to the Cerro Bayo, a few meters to reach the base of the same, and handmade right can access the path that leads to the "Rio Bonito waterfall". They will be about 100 meters. plus or minus decrease that can be made with caution, since it has steep slopes. The waterfall itself is fabulous. The place from where you can appreciate is somewhat neglected, poorly marked, with little or no maintenance. The steep and uphill - return - will cost a little bit. Not suitable for anyone.
