Cascada del Rio Bonito, Villa La Angostura

(4/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Follow the scenic path alongside Rio Bonito to reach Cascada del Rio Bonito. The river drops from a 36 m (118 ft) high natural balcony. The path ends with an attractive local beach, where you'll see locals walking their dogs and playing with their children on the grey sand (actually volcanic ash). If you get off the road and hike 200 m (656 ft) downhill through a dense forest of native trees, you'll reach the ski-slopes. Finish your walk with a visit to a trout farm. Note that there are no public restrooms along the way. Add Cascada del Rio Bonito and other attractions to your Villa La Angostura trip itinerary using our Villa La Angostura itinerary planner.

  • Is a walk of approximately 1 hr from the route to the height of the cerro bayo. You have to take precautions since the road is not marked, we were going by placing sticks on the floor forming arrows to know where should return. A beautiful experience is that walk, arriving at where is waterfall annoys you, not by the waterfall but by the State of the viewpoint. It almost does not exist, there are a few remains of wood with nails jutting out and the rest of the mirador pulled across the floor. One cannot be supported because you don't know if you can hold. Simply you approach with care, you get the photo and you alejas. DANGEROUS!

  • The waterfall is cute, easy access (you can reach up to 200 meters with car). But the viewpoint is in terrible state, railings broken. It is a danger to go with guys. I hope li repaired. With so many things to see, today not the recommend.

  • To is waterfall is accessed by car a little before arriving at Cerro Bayo Ski Center, is well signposted and are only 200 Mt, but costs really quite the climb and the waterfall looks very far away, there is no access to it, in all ways always is good to know it.
