La Casa de Carlos Gesell, Villa Gesell

(3.8/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Pay tribute to the man who turned part of Argentina's sand-dune coastline into lucrative forests with a visit to his family home turned municipal museum, La Casa de Carlos Gesell. Gesell's home was constructed on top of a 9 m (30 ft) high sand dune in an area once occupied by a treeless desert and dunes. Gesell worked tirelessly to afforest the area, and his efforts are carefully documented throughout his former home, filled with personal objects and other family items. • Although already knew of many years ago, this time wanted to again because I was told that within the ride there was a pottery workshop where not only you can see and buy parts but participate in production in days and certain times. The walk is very nice since it is inside the forest where the founder of the city planted its own forest, there is a nursery that replenishes plants and trees he has nothing for sale to the public unfortunately. Front of the pottery workshop is a beautiful cultural bar that makes you want to sit to drink or eat any of their all-natural products. Needless to add the interesting thing about the House and Museum where he lived Carlos Gesell.

  • They told us to "go to the forest which is very nice to walk". And we loved it! Long walks can be made through the paths of the forest to reach the House of don Gesell.
