El Totem, Villa Gesell
(1.4/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Don't miss a visit to El Totem, a monument that honors the American-Indian tradition of erecting structures like this to commemorate village chiefs. German sculptor Pablo Hannemann designed the piece in 1977 as a tribute to the founder of Villa Gesell, Don Carlos Idhao Gesell, who watched the unveiling ceremony. Greeting visitors as they enter the city, the structure adorns a mythological thunderbird on the top. • For many years the totem was the symbol of the entrance to the city, and therefore the symbol of the beginning of the holiday. With the new entry for the southern zone, this is no longer so, but still it is worth approaching the old totem for the photo of rigor.

  • It is near the entrance, away from the Center. You're going to see to enter (if you enter by the Buenos Aires) and leave, they seldom go to stop. No it is the Totem-Gesell relationship...

  • It is to stop a while with mate and a photo. A typical postcard of Gesell. Only that but worth it when you look at the photos after a few years.

  • HORRIBLE! WE WENT WITH MY PARTNER AND WE ASK SORRENTINO. THEY WERE THE SORRENTINOS MORE EXPENSIVE TO PAY IN MY LIFE AND THE MOST HORRIFIC THAT I TRIED! A DISGUSTING ATTENTION OF THE PLACE, POORLY WASHED DISHES BROUGHT US NOT EVEN BREAD OR CHEESE, WE HAD TO ASK FOR IT!. THE SORRENTINOS SEEMED A HOST, RE CRUSHED AGAINST, POOR SUPER FILLING AND INSTEAD OF HAM HAD PALETTE OF BAD QUALITY, WITHOUT CHEESE AND THE SAUCE WAS AN OCEAN, AND TEA THE CHARGE APART WITH AN AVERAGE VALUE OF $85. IN TOTAL WE SPEND $ 510 AND ASK TWO SORRENTINOS WITH SAUCE DISHES, A WATER AND A SPRITE. DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN ENABLE PLACES, OF POOR QUALITY AND WITH THOSE VALUES AS HIGH ON THE CHART. OF COURSE THAT WE DON'T LET TIP, NOT AGAIN I NEVER MORE!

  • We came to eat with a group of friends and were very disappointed. The food was not very good (ask for pies, a few steaks and hamburger) and the expensive prices. Took more than one hour in bring the food. Super dirty bathrooms. Side note: missed the letter of "pastres".

  • Poorly run place, sitting in the bar chef waiting to pass the time, the waiters don't know the menu, asked for a bite where said that it had ham, and palette sandwich maker. The salami cut transparent, the crude with scalpel. There was no olives, no peanuts, bread to accompany dry, cerveza quilmes carisimo gate, which took me shopping 3 liter bottles. Dirty bathrooms. THIEVES, AWFUL, IMPOSSIBLE TO RECOMMEND
