Cerro de la Virgen, Villa General Belgrano

4.3
#3 of 9 in Things to do in Villa General Belgrano
Test your trekking ability and fitness levels with a walk at Cerro de la Virgen, an uphill trail promising rewarding panoramic views over Villa General Belgrano and the surrounding mountains. Though the climb to the lookout point at the top is very steep, there are a number of resting places where you can stop for a while and catch breath. Bring plenty of water and appropriate footwear for the excursion. The walk to the summit should take no longer than 45 minutes to an hour. Once at the top, you'll enjoy memorable views of the town’s skyline. Cerro de la Virgen is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Villa General Belgrano Edition.

  • The worst of the rise is at the beginning since there is a staircase made of stone and wood quite steep and in places there is no railing. Overcome this path is a path in some places more precipitously than in others. The views from the villa are very nice. I do not recommend it for older people or small children who have to bring in arms. It takes approx 1 hour up to 45 minutes to get, carry water and a hat.

  • With my destroyed half hip able to upload, it had tried other years without success, but this year I had my faith and I went. The main trail reaches a point that it becomes very hard, difficult access and hard climbed, but have a secondary path (deviation) where it is made more accessible and manageable, us were my sister-in-law with her 3 children, 7-year-old twins and 11 male My wife and I with our 8 twins and the girl of 12, reach a point where there is a gate that says nothing, we didn't know what to do, if passing or not passing, it seemed private property, I decided to intespectivamente and I said come on, let's go! We pass all at the bottom of the gate, all happy and at the same time fearful of doing something forbidden and continue our tour type browsers, taking photos of the beautiful view and recovering air to follow, cruzandonos with other climbers and the typical question guys, what is missing! We had the good idea to each bring a bottle of water, because it gives a lot be the rise and the dry climate of the hills dry throats, so I charge the aguitas 3 of my children, lol, who had the idea of taking water! , but they were necessary and we enjoyed it a lot the promenade, to the top, up to the Virgin, there all the bottles of water were empty in a bag of garbage for that purpose. In climbing it takes between breaks, photo shoots of various poses, taken from water, etc., about 40 minutes, the descent is a little more fast, 30 minutes, without water and photos jajajaj, hug everyone, I hope they serve my comment, luck and good climbing!
