Cerro de la Virgen, Villa General Belgrano

4.3
#3 of 9 in Things to do in Villa General Belgrano
Test your trekking ability and fitness levels with a walk at Cerro de la Virgen, an uphill trail promising rewarding panoramic views over Villa General Belgrano and the surrounding mountains. Though the climb to the lookout point at the top is very steep, there are a number of resting places where you can stop for a while and catch breath. Bring plenty of water and appropriate footwear for the excursion. The walk to the summit should take no longer than 45 minutes to an hour. Once at the top, you'll enjoy memorable views of the town’s skyline. Cerro de la Virgen is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Villa General Belgrano Edition.

  • It is the time that it took to upload with my wife and son of 9 years, at a normal pace, neither fast nor slow. Then will have to add the span one delayed in taking pictures, beyond rest up and finally descend. There are sections that require more effort than others and must be up and down carefully since there are no steps from iron, wood or cement, but go climbing on roads of Earth and stones, but it is worth. It is important to carry a bottle of water, hat and sunscreen. And of course clothes and sports shoes. After a first access to the Cerro de la Virgen, another Hill situated further back and called Pico German is just 3 minutes. Both are picturesque for good photographs. I highly recommend it. It is a free attraction, and you can leave the car on the side of the road or in the Shell service station, located steps from the entrance to the Hill.

  • The truth that is a complicated road but the view is excellent! They should have some kind of control since the ascent is quite dangerous. The climb is worth it!

  • The worst of the rise is at the beginning since there is a staircase made of stone and wood quite steep and in places there is no railing. Overcome this path is a path in some places more precipitously than in others. The views from the villa are very nice. I do not recommend it for older people or small children who have to bring in arms. It takes approx 1 hour up to 45 minutes to get, carry water and a hat.

Where to stay in Villa General Belgrano

Thanks to the town's popular beer festival, October is the busiest season in Villa General Belgrano--book weeks in advance to ensure a good deal and a room with all the amenities you need. If you arrive without a reservation in hand, consider exploring the area on day trips from Cordoba, a bigger city with more sleeping options. Visitors on longer stays can consider renting a furnished apartment in a quiet residential area.
