San Roque Lake, Villa Carlos Paz

4.0
#1 of 8 in Beaches in Province of Cordoba
Escape from the city and retreat to the lakeside village near San Roque Lake, artificially constructed in 1886 to provide fresh water for the capital. The area around the man-made lake now serves as a quiet getaway, where you'll often find locals and tourists lounging on the grass, picnicking, or playing a game of soccer. To appreciate the area from a different perspective, consider taking a catamaran sailing tour across the body of water, and learn about the region's history and the development of the city. • Nice to walk on the Lake, with mobility or walking, in the alrrededor are two places downtown, the so-called old and new-in the new all make walking a mall full, with many variety of restaurant for all the tastes, and gift shop-as well as theatres with famous rconocidos and tam for children-as playground for children and teens-all in very clean Center, ordered, note the order of the traffic.

  • Good roads bordering the Lake with winding and fun to explore exciting pieces. The landscape of the Lake on clear days is spectacular. If you go by car, you can stop at various points. To my West Coast I liked... but everything is beautiful. And there are places to stop and admire.

  • Beautiful lake with some fun fishing holes. Not to be confused with the San Roque dam. Which creates the lake and was built in the late 1800s.
  • A beauty! Amazing place! But the Google maps tells you anything! Led us to 3 different locations badly! And horrible roads! A danger finish anywhere! The application should solve that! Not takes you to the dock if you put as reference "dique San Roque". Locals informed us better! It is "San Roque dam" funnel.

  • Cute, I recommend visiting it when the dam level is not low to see the funnel in operation.

  • Nice place to take a few photos and be yn short time.

  • Stop half an hour and broke me all the auto locks. I assume that there must be a complicity with the business of the place because no one will look to my screams and puteadas.

Where to stay in Villa Carlos Paz

Despite its small size, Villa Carlos Paz features a solid array of accommodations thanks to the steady stream of city-slickers looking for a weekend of relaxation. Plenty of larger hotels featuring onsite restaurants, pools, and more upscale furnishings cluster around the highway intersection at the southern tip of the lake. While these obviously get you closer to the downtown nightlife, they generally come with a higher price tag. If you're looking for something a bit more budget-friendly, try renting a room at one of the city's many "cabanas"--smaller, lodge-like hotels farther out from the city center.
