El Puente Uruguay, Villa Carlos Paz

Admire the artistry and historical importance of El Puente Uruguay, an impressively engineered bridge housing a cultural center. Built in 1945, the small bridge has undergone several facelifts over the years, and now contains 150 m (492 ft) of gallery and retail space hidden beneath the road. Admire the artworks on display, with rolling exhibits throughout the year, and browse the extensive range of handicrafts, trinkets, and arty souvenirs sold at the stalls. The many-arched bridge looks impressive from many angles, with the windows of the hidden art gallery offering a particularly unusual sight. • To take pictures and walk day and night. I highly recommend the city especially in summer.

  • From a project shared by the province and the municipality, it has been transformed, modernized and have been added details that distinguish it from others. Cars continue to ply their top track; Multipurpose Gallery is located below and to this is added a crosswalk that is accessed by side stairs. Large arcades and the large windows give the cultural bridge an imposing air that grows when we see it at night, even from afar.

Where to stay in Villa Carlos Paz

Despite its small size, Villa Carlos Paz features a solid array of accommodations thanks to the steady stream of city-slickers looking for a weekend of relaxation. Plenty of larger hotels featuring onsite restaurants, pools, and more upscale furnishings cluster around the highway intersection at the southern tip of the lake. While these obviously get you closer to the downtown nightlife, they generally come with a higher price tag. If you're looking for something a bit more budget-friendly, try renting a room at one of the city's many "cabanas"--smaller, lodge-like hotels farther out from the city center.
