El Cerro de la Cruz, Villa Carlos Paz

4.2
#6 of 27 in Historic Sites in Province of Cordoba
Trek the popular El Cerro de la Cruz, a hill on top of which stands a 15 m (50 ft) statue of a cross. Hike the gradually climbing path, well marked and about 2,200 m (1.3 mi) long, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere along the way. When you reach the top you can admire this city landmark, rest on a bench, purchase snacks at the kiosk, and snap a few photos of the surrounding area. Wear suitable shoes and be careful during the descent, as the rocky path can get slippery. It is a ride that requires physical state that is worth reaching cross on top because of its beautiful view. We recommend comfortable shoes and bring water. The entry has no cost. When you reach the cross is a small store. Very good to share with children, I went with the mine they are teenagers and the connection with nature is very cute.

It is a place that is worth to its top, which is a huge cross, we went with two best and one of them is doing catechism which was enthusiastic about photographing the fourteen stations of the via crucis, access has some stretches with a slight difficulty but the view is worth the effort, it's free you have to bring water and go light clothing, with comfortable and appropriate for that type of trail shoes.

Where to stay in Villa Carlos Paz

Despite its small size, Villa Carlos Paz features a solid array of accommodations thanks to the steady stream of city-slickers looking for a weekend of relaxation. Plenty of larger hotels featuring onsite restaurants, pools, and more upscale furnishings cluster around the highway intersection at the southern tip of the lake. While these obviously get you closer to the downtown nightlife, they generally come with a higher price tag. If you're looking for something a bit more budget-friendly, try renting a room at one of the city's many "cabanas"--smaller, lodge-like hotels farther out from the city center.
