La Loberia - Punta Bermeja, Viedma

#1 of 10 in Things to do in Viedma
Surround yourself with picturesque cliffsides and pebble beaches, while also getting close to Patagonia’s first sea lion colony, at La Loberia - Punta Bermeja. Special walkways above the cliffs allow you to enjoy an excellent vantage point over the large sea lion colonies below. However, access to the beach itself is restricted for tourists in order to protect the sea lions. Head to the nearby information center to learn more about sea lions in their natural habitat, and purchase cuddly toy representations of the majestic beasts. Put La Loberia - Punta Bermeja into our Viedma road trip website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Punta Bermeja is the place where are the sea lions. La lobería (at 1km from P. Bermeja) is called Spa where every visitor can enjoy an excellent beach, with rocks that leave pools for bathing or sandy beach and enjoy the sea with great care. The clear water, the peace, the Sun, nature. A new concept of relaxation.

  • The seal colony is a spectacular beach that is part of the protected Punta Bermeja nature reserve. It has lifeguard service and there is a small place where you can buy something to eat and drink. The beach, in some areas, has Boulder. The cliff which frames it from behind and its geographical location made that this beach has a natural shelter from the frequent winds that blow in Patagonia. This makes it one of the best beaches in the area to be able to spend all day on the beach. But attention, take into account the time of high tide, since it may be little surface of beach or if sudestada directly may not be lowered. It has some pools on the rock where to bathe, in which sea water is renewed constantly. Longer than when the tide, they remain covered and become to discover at low tide. I am unaware whether they are natural or artificial. Regarding accessibility to the beach, you can down the long stairs, or you can take the shuttle with a cost per person (a sort of cart where you can also upload chairs and umbrellas). After it, you should also be down a few stairs. Take into account this if a visitor has disabled access. When the tide is low, you can take a walk on the seafront. Not to forget this fact that I'm going to count: wear flip flops! because Boulder makes it difficult to walk without shoes in some sections. Once, when we went out walking with some friends, we saw three huge Lions rested on the beach. If they are lucky enough to interbreed with them, please don't come and do not disturb them. Remember that they are in a protected area, and this is your home. Enjoy and please this incredible place without damaging it!
