  • Falkland Islands living in Tierra del Fuego; Rio Grande commemorates the day national of the vigil for the fallen in Malvinas and in both cities, the entire population, both local as tourist, binds to wait on April 2 in full wakefulness. Hot chocolate, mate, stories and memories are part of the way of keeping alive the memory of these islands Argentina.

  • I was thrilled to meet the Falkland memorial and Plaza in honor of the crew of the ship General Belgrano and soldiers killed during the Falklands war (Argentina versus England for dominance of the Falkland Islands) in 1982

  • A monument that the Malvinas Capital "Ushuaia" devotes to its islands and the fallen on it. Feels a single pound, the monumental, the Argentina flag and the eternal flame bring us closer to our beloved soil. Lot of feeling

  • Nice homage to war. Can go for a walk around the area
  • Remembrance of the war on the Falklands =Isles Malvinas. Big pictures putted nearby.
  • A monument and memorial with an ever burning pyre to remember the Argentinean soldiers who fell in the Islas Malvinas / Falklands conflict in the short war in 1982. Pictures taken at the time surrounded it.
  • A nice homage to the war. Eerie sight of a stil burning pyre for the fallen ones,
  • There's not much to see: several plaques, surrounding a fire, a sculpture of the Islands and a couple of suggestive poems. For taking some pictures and continue later. It is quite wide and the Beagle Channel view is beautiful.

Where to stay in Ushuaia

Despite its nickname, Ushuaia is certainly not the end of the world when it comes to finding comfortable lodgings--as long as you plan ahead and reserve your room in advance. Hotels and hostels are equally crowded here during the peak season (October to March), so it's advisable to arrive with a solid reservation in hand. If you choose to visit during the winter (June to mid-September), expect to find many establishments closed for the season.
