  • Very close to the tourist office in plaza 25 de Mayo is easily reachable this colorful and eye-catching shed, which through a craft fair under roof. We went in the morning and had many jobs closed (I guess that they will open at a time of greater movement). It is a place where to buy beautiful and original crafts, mostly made with elements from the area. There are objects in wood characteristics of the area, all kinds of magnets and keychains, goblins, beautiful crafts made from coins, jewels and fantasies, textiles and weaving of wool and guanaco: layers, ruanas and ponchos; wonderful designer with felt inlaid clothes; soaps and portfolio also loom with applications of felt or felt. A luxury, especially if we consider that being Ushuaia port free, most people visit the mentalizada city of buying perfumes, drinks and other imported objects and does not consider the possibility of choosing an original handcrafted design object is very difficult for the artisans to compete with that. If you want to give you the taste buy a garment for you or to give away, totally unique and unrepeatable, this is the place.

  • There is everything. Some original, and very delicate work other more common. Different materials, there has to do with the taste of each one. The photos that I uploaded are things that I bought. There were others that I would have also liked to bring: weaving fabrics with wool, llama and sheep with beautiful designs. Everything cannot be, is for the next...

  • Plaza 25 de Mayo, on Maipú beside tourist information site, is located in East walk is a shed with several stalls selling various kinds of handicrafts and qualities... When we visited it not always they were all vendors. Unbearable is the music permanently become very loud since they open until they close which endured since my hotel was in front of the promenade.

Where to stay in Ushuaia

Despite its nickname, Ushuaia is certainly not the end of the world when it comes to finding comfortable lodgings--as long as you plan ahead and reserve your room in advance. Hotels and hostels are equally crowded here during the peak season (October to March), so it's advisable to arrive with a solid reservation in hand. If you choose to visit during the winter (June to mid-September), expect to find many establishments closed for the season.
