  • Climb the glacier in early autumn, with the pond completely frozen! The use of own equipment for this type of activity was crucial. Thermal and waterproof clothes in several layers, comfortable and sturdy shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen are essential items. It's a track with average difficulty, but that becomes more difficult as we go up and the ice increases. The highlight is definitely have lunch inside a snow cave in which the own Guide opens the entry and that keeps us a little more heated. Without doubt an unforgettable tour! Recommended the tour with an experienced guide, especially in winter. We did with Seba, the Brazilians in Ushuaia and he is excellent. Lightweight backpack, water, hats and protector for nose and mouth, as the wind punishes.

  • We made a trek of 14 km towards Vinciguerra Glacier, passing by lagoa de Los Tempanos. It was, without doubt, the best ride. The difficulty is moderate to high, but worth it. We did with Ushuaia Adventure. Gabriel guide is super attentive. Recommend the tour and the company. It is important to use proper footwear and waterproof. On the trails a long clay, stone, water.

  • The Laguna de los Tempranos in conjunction with Vinciguerra glacier forming a magnificent view, almost unbelievable so beautiful. We still had the possibility of joining in an ice cave. We went with a guide. The track is very demanding: 3 hours of ascent and descent 3. Requires balance and muscle strength more than breath. Pulled even for those who are not sedentary. But there is no doubt that it is very rewarding.

Where to stay in Ushuaia

Despite its nickname, Ushuaia is certainly not the end of the world when it comes to finding comfortable lodgings--as long as you plan ahead and reserve your room in advance. Hotels and hostels are equally crowded here during the peak season (October to March), so it's advisable to arrive with a solid reservation in hand. If you choose to visit during the winter (June to mid-September), expect to find many establishments closed for the season.
