Canal Beagle, Ushuaia

(4.6/5 based on 5,000+ reviews on the web)
While it might sound like a television network dedicated to videos of adorable dogs, Canal Beagle is actually a strait at the extreme southern tip of South America. The channel offers excellent wildlife watching, with plenty of cormorants and sea lions populating its waters. You can take a boat cruise to explore glacial offshoots and wild southern landscapes close to the edge of the continent, beyond which only Antarctica lies. • It's beautiful, pure nature. It is possible to see the birds that look like penguins, sea lions (or would be wolves, I'm not sure ...) and Magellanic penguins. On the boat there are explanations about the geography and the animals that live there. You must take care as there are two excursions: a docks in Penguin Island and we walk between them and the next ride we come close but not down.

  • The Beagle Channel is the link between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Ushuaia is right in the middle of the road. The landscape is very beautiful and worth doing the tour of canal navigation, passing the island of the birds and the sea lions until you reach the famous Les Eclaireurs lighthouse or beacon of end of the world. It's a quick ride, approximately 2:30.

  • The crossing takes three hours, making stops to see the Penguin Colony, the island of wolves until you reach the estancia Harberton, where you can eat, the various dishes of the day. There is a tour for the stay, all very interesting. Tips important carry always a pilotin because the time changes constantly, not umbrella the wind it breaks and hire the services from the place of origin that have best price that get them in the place.
