Antigua Casa Beban, Ushuaia

(3/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
One of the first houses in the city of Ushuaia, Antigua Casa Beban now serves as a cultural center and a place to learn about the history of this resort town. The former residence of the Beban family, it was donated to the city in the 1980s to avoid demolition. Step inside to view a small collection of family photos capturing bygone eras, as well as an art exhibit. Walk further into the house to find the small cafe nestled within and take a break with a snack and a hot drink. To visit Antigua Casa Beban on your trip to Ushuaia, use our Ushuaia vacation builder.

  • This museum was home of one of the pioneers of Ushuaia. You can take a look at how ancestors of current residents had lived before.
  • Visit the Beban House and its history... is to enter the time tunnel... Affects its structure and excellent restoration that took her to the Re opening in 1994, in the Paseo de Las Rosas, in the Sector "The old settlers". They do tours from Monday to Friday at 11 pm... 2 pm... and 17 hs... Being the hours of 10 am to 6 pm. The Sra Maria de los Ángeles is the guide that we travel facilities. Us has it history of it Flia drink, them variants by which step it great House (7 bedrooms, spacious environments, 2 baths, dining, galleries and it shocking tower with view to the Bay of Ushuaia) from the opening in 1913 until it current location... Don Fortunato drink, merchant and Navigator of origin Croatian, acquired by catalog House as his son Thomas wedding gift with Amanda Eiras. The family gave the House for celebrations of neighbors, dates homelands, official acts, among others... Until 1963 it was residence of the family. With time passes to be a clinic, then Hotel... From its original place in Maipú 857, is it disarmed, moving and restore, a task titanica, under the direction of Arq Francisco Arqueros. In its new destination, step to be an exhibition centre and major cultural events! I highlight the care and warmth of the SARS Maria of the angels Cordoba, Haydee Romero and Maria Cristina Guillermo. It was declared "National historic landmark" in 2005. A visit that should not miss to know the history of the first settlers in the old Ushuaia...
